Evansville wins game two of a three game set over Wichita State Saturday.
Evansville junior lefty Cole Isom did the best impression he could of his highly touted teammate Kyle Freeland Saturday. Freeland, who struck out 15 Shockers in the Aces Friday win, watched as Isom threw seven great innings giving up only one earned run. The Aces offense exploded in Saturday's game thanks, in part, to some sloppy play in the field from the Wichita State defense. Josh Jyawook and Kevin Kaczmarski each had 3/4 games. Jake Mahon turned in two hits including a beautiful bunt single in the first inning.
Evansville will go for the series sweep with Connor Strain on the mound Sunday. The Aces move to 22-11 on the year. Wes Carroll's club is 4-1 in Missouri Valley Conference action so far this season.
