Anti-Smoking Group Brings Campaign to Western Kentucky

Anti-smoking advocates are pushing for tougher smoking laws across Kentucky.
Anti-smoking advocates are pushing for tougher smoking laws across Kentucky. The Smoke Free Kentucky Coalition stopped in Owensboro and Madisonville today.

They're asking lawmakers to pass a new smoke free law covering all indoor workplaces and public places. The American Cancer Society says it can prevent the number of deaths caused by second hand smoke.

"Second hand smoke has a significant impact," said Debbie Zuerner-Johnson of Owensboro Health. "And for us not to enact this legislation that will protect all workplaces, it just doesn't make sense."

Smoke Free Kentucky also stopped in Paducah on their way to Fancy Farm, where their tour ends.
