Armed Robbery Victim Gives First Hand Account

A Henderson man says he was robbed at gunpoint at a friend's house over the weekend. He says the man "was calm like he had done it a million times."
The victim who does not want to be identified says he just finished making a snack overnight on Saturday when a man walked through the front door and pointed a gun at his face. "My friend was in the kitchen and he told him to get on the ground or he was going to shoot him. He got on the ground and then he told him I was in the living room, don't shoot me."

The victim says the man ordered the pair to lie down in the bathroom. The victim says the man did not try to hide his identity in anyway. "All I remember is his face and the gun." The victim says the man's demeanor was very strange as if what he was doing was routine. "He was calm. He just said get on the ground, like calm, like I'm talking to you right now. Get on the ground or I'm going to shoot you."

The victim says the situation became even stranger when the man showed some compassion when he asked for a cigarette. "I was like can you bring me one of my cigarettes off the table? And he brought it to be and let me light it. Then he took my lighter."

The victim says he didn't know quite how to respond to the man's oddly sympathetic actions. But the victim says he and his friend stayed quiet in the bathroom for any hour to make sure the man had left. "That's weird ain't it? It kind of freaked me out, but then that's when I was like he just wants his money and then he will be gone."

The victim says among to other items the man made off with two guitars, a PS3, a BMX bike, and a new Galaxy phone. He says he didn't expect anything like this to happen to him in Henderson. "I was shook up right after it happened. I went home, went to sleep, woke up, oh well it happened. It was like a dream kind of."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 270-831-1111.
