The Tri-State Better Business Bureau is warning of a new scam that could put your cyber security at risk.

Tri-State BBB President/CEO Cathy Eichele said scammers are capitalizing on worldwide interest in the mystery of Malaysian Airline Flight 370. Eichele said people are clicking on sensational headlines like ‘Missing plane has been found’ and are lead to a third party site where people are asked to ‘Update your video player.’ But, instead of an update, people are downloading malware.

If you come across a sensational headline, Eichele suggested hovering over the link to see where it will take you, being wary of articles friends share and getting your computer checked out if you’ve downloaded the malware.
