A new chapter of sports in Evansville begs a question. How will lingering road problems and pending lawsuits play into the game?

The Evansville Convention and Visitor's Bureau awarded all but one of its contracts for a sports complex to be built on North Green River Road.

The CVB also announced it's locked down the complex's first event.

The Indiana Amateur Softball Tournament will put cleats on the fields of the multimillion dollar facility in July 2015.

We'll likely see shovels digging in the next few weeks.

Here's how to contract money breaks down.

The CVB awarded just more than 5 million dollars to Empire Contractors, Inc and they will handle general construction such as, concrete, plumbing, bleachers, etc.

The group Blankenberger Brothers, Inc. will receive 6.4 million for site work and field turf.

The final bid for field lighting was rejected and will have to be re-submitted within 30 days. Officials do not see this impacting the current construction time-line.
