A Big Rivers power station gets a big reward from the commonwealth for reaching a major safety milestone.

The Sebree station receives the Governor's Safety and Health Award.

Employees have worked more than a million and a half hours without a lost time injury or illness.

This is the 10th time the station's received the honor and the 35th award for Big Rivers.

"It's a milestone we look towards, a milestone we look forward to," said Station Manager Ron Gregory. "But safety is extremely fragile. And it takes a relentless repetition to continue to work safely at a plant like we have."

More than 200 people work at the Sebree station. They last reached this milestone in 2008.
