Boonville Youth Center Victim of Thefts

The executive director of Studio Bee believes the first incident happened Thursday and another overnight.

Leaders of a youth center in Boonville are baffled after pieces of their air conditioning units were stolen twice this week.

Studio Bee executive director Randy Beard said he first discovered the theft Thursday. When Eyewitness News was on the scene today, Beard realized that more pieces of the unit had been stolen again overnight.

This comes after the macroburst in May delayed an auction that provided funding for many of its programs, including a back-to-school giveaway. After the initial theft, the giveaway was moved from the gymnasium to the cafeteria because of the lack of air conditioning.

Beard alerted police of the latest incident. He hopes to get 24/7 surveillance for the facilities one day.
