Southwestern Indiana's 8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon was selected to give the GOP response to the president's weekly national address.
Doctor Bucshon noted there are more than 40 good jobs bills awaiting action; pointing the blame at the democrat-held senate. He also talked about implementing health care reform that would let patients choose plans they want at a price they can afford, making education more affordable and accessible and fixing the nation's tax code. doctor Bucshon mentioned the so-called "War on Coal", saying it shows that policies coming from Washington D.C. just don't make sense.
"As a physician I took an oath to do no harm. While this administration's policies continue to harm our nation's economy and families continue to struggle to make ends meet. Republicans are offering solutions America's workers can count on. Our solutions will address the sluggish job market and grow our economy over the long run", said Bucshon:
Bucshon says getting people back to work, lowering costs at home, and restoring opportunity will be the GOP's focus in the weeks ahead.
