Owensboro City Commissioners approve more money for a planned boat dock in downtown.

Owensboro City Commissioners approve more money for a planned boat dock in downtown.

Today they voted 4 to 1 in favor of spending a $500,000 just for the design and pre-construction.

The planned dock, which will be next to the Convention Center, was 1 of 3 options considered by city officials earlier this year.

Downtown was eventually chosen over English Park and the Mercer area of Daviess County.

officials say the dock is expected to cost nearly $6,000,000 to build.
