City Of Evansville's 2012 Audit Receives "Clean Opinion"

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke announced Friday that the city’s 2012 audit received a “clean opinion” or “unqualified opinion” the from the Indiana State Board of Accounts.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke announced Friday that the city’s 2012 audit received a “clean opinion” or “unqualified opinion” the from the Indiana State Board of Accounts.

Winnecke said the opinion reaffirms the city as "healthy" and "progressive."  

The city received a “disclaimer of opinion” in 2011.  City controller Russell Lloyd said the city purchased a new financial software at the end of 2010 and had problems with the conversion in 2011.

The 2012 audit exit interview conducted in March received a substantial amount of attention after former city council vice president Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley released a recording of the interview to the public.

Brinkerhoff-Reily stepped down as vice president Thursday, but will remain on the council.
