The city of Evansville receives a $500,000 grant to go towards the long-standing remediation project at the former site of the Swanson Nunn building. The money comes from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Crews demolished the building back in March. Swanson Nunn, once a dry cleaning business, seeped chemicals into the ground causing contamination of the soil.

This money will advance plans to clean the ground at the site, a process that could take years.
