KSP: Deadly Henderson Co. Fire Appears Accidental

The Henderson County Sheriff's Department confirms one person has died in a house fire in Spottsville.
UPDATE: Kentucky State Police are saying the fire appears to be accidental and started in the kitchen area in the back of the home.

Troopers have identified the victim as 75-year-old Ruth Ann Herrlein. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow in Louisville.

UPDATE:
Fire crews say when they arrived, they found an elderly woman inside. They say she was about four to five feet from the front door.

Crews performed CPR and transported her by ambulance. We're told she died a short time later.

Officials say several firefighters were treated due to heat, but everyone is okay.

The fire is now under the investigation of the Kentucky State Police.

Crews responded to the fire a little after 1 p.m. at the 6800 block of Old Henry-Spottsville Rd. Deputies says a woman living in the house died on the way to the hospital.
