CVB Delays Announcing Contractor for New Complex

It will be at least a week before we find out who will be in charge of building Evansville's new baseball and softball complex.
It will be at least a week before we find out who will be in charge of building Evansville's new baseball and softball complex.

The Convention and Vistors Bureau decided to remove the announcement from it's agenda today after board members decided they needed more time to review the submissions.

The complex to be built along N. Green River Rd. will have soccer, baseball, and softball fields.

The CVB unsealed more than two dozen bids from contractors last week to build the $14 million complex.

"I can't wait for our board and our county council and our county commission and the mayor's office to be out there with shovels in their hand saying the ballpark's moving foward," said CVB Executive Director Bob Warren. "This has been a long long process, and we're anxious to start pitching softballs out there."

A special meeting is still expected to be called. Warren says that should be in about a week to 10 days.
