A tristate park has gone to the dogs, on purpose.

Henderson opens a first of it's kind dog park this afternoon. The grand opening "leash cutting" was held at Community Park.

The park features more than half an acre with trees, fencing, and an area for unleashing dogs.

Director of Henderson Parks and Recreation Trace Stevens says the turnout already encouraging.
Stevens hopes the demand grows enough to start adding new equipment for the dogs.
The park is open from dawn to dusk seven days a week.
