It is the start of Holy Week and a great chance to unite the many religions in downtown Evansville.

The Downtown Ministers Association held their "Way of the Cross" service along six stops down main street to Riverside Dr.

The first part of the service was at the Civic Center and continued nearby at the war memorial, in front of Ford Center, at Third St. and Main St., Evansville Title Corporation, and concluded at Old National Bank tower.

It was a service for all faiths and all walks of life.

"This is an outward sign for us in the downtown community and Downtown Ministers," said Sgt. Darren Sroufe, "to call to mind Holy Week where Christ was lead to death, and we remember that and then anticipate the resurrection."

The Downtown Ministers Association was founded in 1975.
