An early morning vacant house fire in Evansville damaged three surrounding homes and displaced two families.

It happened in the 2500 block of N. Governor Street.

Evansville Fire Department investigator Richard Howard said they believe the fire was incendiary, which means someone played a role in the blaze. He said they will only classify it as arson if the police department charges someone in connection with the fire.

He said they are looking at a connection to a previous fire at the home in April. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
