It was an overwhelming odor that led an Evansville Police officer to knock at the door of a home on E. Delaware St. Thursday night. Inside the home, police say, were two men making meth with a very "volatile" meth lab operation.

60-year-old James Michael Brown and 43-year-old William Jarboe are now facing several meth-related charges. Officers say when they opened the front door, a smoky haze rolled out.

EPD's Meth Task Force found 88 grams of what's known as "meth oil", or the liquid form of the drug, and also a very dangerous meth lab they say could have easily created a fire or explosion.
