EPD, EFD Rescue Four Dogs From Burning Home

Four dogs were rescued from a burning home around midnight Saturday.

Four dogs were rescued from a burning home around midnight Saturday. No one else was at the home in the 100 block of E. Louisiana Street. Neighbors said first responders gave some of the dogs oxygen.

This isn’t the first time animals have been rescued from the home. In 2010, Paul and Linda Matlock plead guilty to animal abandonment and neglect after 13 dogs were found. One was dead. The Matlocks were ordered to not own any animals for a year and perform community service at the Humane Society.

Neighbors are taking care of the dogs. They said the owners have not returned since the fire.
