EPD Net Six Arrests With Sobriety Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint over the weekend in Evansville nets six arrests and one ticket.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office nets six arrests and one ticket during an overnight sobriety check point.

The checkpoint was at East Franklin Street and North Heidelbach between 11:30 and 2:30.

During that time, deputies say Melissa Forzley of Poseyville drove past the checkpoint - in a Jeep with a blown tire.

A deputy pulled Forzley over and arrested her for DUI.

Deputies later arrested Christopher Caton of Henderson for DUI after he also tried to drive around the checkpoint.

In addition to the two DUI arrests, four people were arrested for outstanding warrants.
And one person was cited and released for driving through the checkpoint with an open container.
