EPD Takes On South Side in Basketball Tournament

To help people connect with Evansville police, officers took part in a friendly basketball tournament against the city's south side.
A basketball tournament helps people on Evansville's south side connect with officers and vice versa.

The 3-on-3 tournament took place at Anthony Oates Park Saturday morning.

The event featured a half-time show with artists from NKOSI records.
The christian hip-hop record label was started by detective Brian Turpin and the late detective, Nathan Schroer, who lost his third battle with cancer last year.

In addition to Evansville police officers, several members of the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office also played in the tournament.
