Evansville City Leaders to Release Their Proposed Location for IU Medical Center

Proposal due Friday to team from Indiana University. Finalists will be chosen and IU Board of Trustees will have final vote for the location of the site.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke said the city's chosen developer, US Health Realty/Skanska,  will reveal their response to the RFP this Friday, January 31st. He said the city has narrowed down its options and settled on the best location for the school.

"We've looked at four general sites downtown and have landed on one. We have secured the land on the general site and it's a great site. I will tell you the concept is of an urban campus for downtown. It's a dynamic concept and we think it will really invigorate downtown," Winnecke said.

Winnecke said the decision of a final location for the medical center will be made by the Indiana University Board of Trustees in April.
