Evansville Garbage Collection Change

Evansville is asking residents to change how they dispose of their waste.

Changes are coming to Evansville's weekly garbage services that could make a convenient service become a hassle to those who may have more garbage than their cart can handle.

At times, all your garbage won't fit into the cart, so the city has allowed the placing your excess waste along the road. Now, the city is asking people to put as much of their trash in the cart as they can, and to not put any of the excess on the ground.

The city isn't making this change to generate money by having residents buy more carts, but rather putting a greater focus on helping out the environment by asking people to focus more on recycling.

Many agree with the city's decision and look forward to seeing less garbage on the streets. You can still put yard waste beside the bin, but only the amount that will fit into one bin. Should you need another cart, you can contact republic services and pay a one-time fee.
