Evansville Jobs Fair Looking to Fill Hundreds of Positions

Dozens of companies hoping to find new workers take part in a job fair today in Evansville.
Dozens of companies hoping to find new workers take part in a job fair today in Evansville. We're told they have nearly 500 positions to fill.

Representatives from Toyota, Evansville Police and Fire Department, along with several other agencies set up at the C.K. Newsome Center for most of the day.

Right now, Evansville's unemployment rate is at the lowest its been in years. That's good news for those who are just moving to town and are looking for work.

"I'm looking for a production job," said Paul Gay, "forklift job, operators job just like to get in to a company where there's advancement and growth, where I can go somewhere."

The job fair was hosted by Congressman Larry Bucshon. The first hour of the event was reserved for military veterans to get a chance to talk with some of the employers.
