Evansville Man Charged with Hitting Dog with Golf Club

An Evansville man is arrested for allegedly hitting his dog with a golf club in his yard.
An Evansville man is arrested for allegedly hitting his dog with a golf club in his yard. Officers say the man appeared to be drunk and had marijuana in his pocket.

55-year-old Kenneth Buckner is facing misdemeanor charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, marijuana possession, and animal cruelty.

Saturday afternoon, EPD officers responded to a call of a man with a gun on E. Riverside Dr. Instead, they say they found Buckner with a broken golf club standing over his dog.

He allegedly told officers he had the right to hit the dog on his property.
