A bitter winter leaves school corporations traveling to makeup missed days.
With all the makeup days used up, EVSC is using a different approach to make up for leftover snow days without having to add on to the end of the year.
Starting February 24 running through March 3, one hour will be added to each school day.
This goes for elementary all the way up to the high school. Transportation will run on the revised schedule.
As it stands now, the last day of school for Warrick County students will be May 23.
Posey County was supposed to finish up on May 21 but will now also go on May 22, 23.
The South Gibson School Corporation sent a letter to parents last Friday explaining how officials will utilize the state's option of e-learning days, which will take place on three Saturdays starting this weekend on February 22.
The other two days will be March 1 and 3.
Here are some of the other adjustments being made in tristate schools:
Daviess County, KY Schools
The DCPS Board of Education voted Feb. 6, 2014, to add 10 additional make-up days to the 2013-14 instructional calendar in response to the exceptional number of days missed because of inclement weather. DCPS families are reminded to avoid these days when scheduling vacations.
Henderson County Schools
Officials plan to ask the school board to adjust the calendar at Monday night's meeting.
They want the board to add some make-up days in March and April.
So far, classes have been canceled a dozen times this school year because of the weather.
Warrick County, IN Schools
The Indiana Department of Education has approved Warrick County's waiver to not make up the days of school missed on January 6, 2014 and January 7, 2014.
The Warrick County School Corporation will have school on the following days to make up the school days missed on December 9, 2013, December 10, 2013, January 21, 2014, February 5, 2014, and February 6, 2014:
