Harrison High School math teacher Chris Robinson was given the Peabody Energy's leader in education award, plus a check for $1,000.
Robinson admits he puts in a lot of extra time to help his students, and that is definitely something those students say makes Robinson so special.
"He stays after school almost everyday if not everyday," Eric Buedel. "He comes in early before school. He helps kids out with all their work in all kinds of disciplines. He even comes in on weekends at Barnes and Nobles and helps us out with our AP Calculus. He really prepares us well for our AP exams, and I think he really deserves it."
Robinson has been a calculus teacher for four years now and says he is honored to nominated as a top educator.
The other teacher who was given the award today was Helfrich Park's Gary Loveless.
