The process is almost finished in relocating more than a dozen families from the area where D-Patrick will soon move.

D-Patrick Downtown is moving near the Lloyd Expressway and Highway 41 in order to make way for the IU Medical School. 17 families live in this area, and officials say 14 of them have already moved.

The Memorial Community Development Corporation is using a $20,000 grant from the city to help the families move.

"We want the general public to know we didn't receive anything," said Rev. Adrian Brooks. "We just administered the grant out of good faith. To us, this is ministry, and we're here to serve the community. And that was enough to be an opportunity to serve."

Rev. Brooks says once all the families are relocated, the Memorial CDC will present a full report to city council. D-Patrick has also pledged to re-imburse the city for that $20,000.
