Today marked the deadline families living in a blighted part of Evansville were given to move out, making way for future development.

Folks living on S. Kerth Ave., S. New York Ave., and Walnut Ave. near the Lloyd Expressway and Highway 41 were originally given an August 2, deadline to pack up their things and move elsewhere.

Today, we went by the area and learned some people have moved, while others are still there. One person told us they were given an extension to move.

The site is being eyed by D-Patrick as a possible spot to relocate it's downtown dealership to make way for the IU Medical School.
