A family who was affected by a fire on Line Street last month will not lose their home. Two homes next door were demolished shortly after the fire.
Fred Cook and his wife lived in the house owned by ECHO Housing Corporation.
ECHO Executive Director Stephanie TenBarge said a structural engineer assessed the damage Tuesday and found it could be saved. TenBarge expects restoration to take three to four months and cost more than $100,000.
Cook and his wife have been living in hotels since the fire. He said he’s looking forward to returning to Line Street.
