The horse races attract a lot of people not only from the Tristate, but also other states.
If fans weren't sitting in their seats, they were standing in them to cheer on their chosen horse until it reached the finish line.
But not everyone comes to place their bets, some just come for the enjoyment of watching the horses compete while spending time with their family.
Tim Buss says, "I got my two boys, and grandson Tate, down here for opening day. We're excited, already won one race. I'll probably bet maybe a couple more before we go back to Mount Carmel. We're enjoying our time."
If you want to attend any of the races, admission is free and races will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and will last until Labor Day weekend.
