The man shot by an Evansville Police officer after a high speed chase last month is now out of the hospital and locked up in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

53-year-old Arthur Fingers is facing nine charges including resisting law enforcement and drug possession.

On April 4, an EPD officer tried to pull Fingers over for driving without any headlights on. After a brief pursuit, officers say fingers wouldn't cooperate with them.

When he tried walking away from them, we're told he tripped and fell. That's when the officer fired the shot.

Fingers had been under guard in an Evansville hospital until he was able to be taken to jail.
