Fire Breaks Out on Evansville's North Side

Firefighters were called to a recycling center after employees found a bale of cardboard in flames.
Evansville, IND.- A fire breaks out on the city's north side.

It was called in just before 10 PM Monday at Tristate Resource Recovery on Harriet Street.

Large plumes of smoke could be seen from the outside of the building.

Two employees inside called 911 after they saw a bale of cardboard on fire. The Evansville Fire Department says the fire then spread to several more bales. Firefighters opened the warehouse doors to help ventilate the smoke.

No one was hurt.

At this time, crews have the fire under control but investigators are still looking into how the fire started.
