Foul Play Ruled Out in Hopkins County Death

The man found near a ball park in Kentucky's death has been ruled natural causes.
Authorities say a man found dead this morning in Hopkins County died of natural causes.

Hopkins County Sheriff's deputies  say the body of 51-year-old Nicky Mullins was found in a grassy area near the White Plains Ball Park early this morning.

Investigators say Mullis is from Nortonville. No one had seen him since Monday afternoon, where he was visiting a friend in White Plains.

"He had visited a friend yesterday," said Detective Otis Chamberlain. "And somewhere around 12:45 a.m., he left the residence. And he didn't return. Between 12:45 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. this morning, his whereabouts were unknown by anybody."

An autopsy this afternoon showed Mullins suffered from medical complications, including a blood clot in his lungs, that officials say contributed to his death.
