Firefighters are looking into the cause of an early Friday morning fire that destroyed several vehicles.
Firefighters are looking into the cause of an early Friday morning fire.
It started around midnight at 10006 Old Mount Vernon Road in Vanderburgh County.
When crews arrived they found the steel pole barn fully engulfed.
There were several vehicles inside including boats, an RV, tractors, as well as several classic cars.
Scott Whitfield with the Perry Township Fire Department says this particular kind of fire can be extremely tricky to battle.
Whitfield says "Poll barns can be a little more difficult because when the walls collapse, the metal falls in and holds the heat and we have to remove the metal from the debris before we can put it out."
Nobody was injured, but the cause of this fire remains under investigation.
