High Winds Hit Union County Fairgrounds

Winds tear through Union County Fairground. Now The Pavilion must be torn down.

Last night's storms had a lot of bark. But, the bite seems to have been minimal.

One of the hardest hit tri-state areas was the Union County Fairgrounds near Sturgis. One of the oldest buildings on the fairgrounds, The Hancock Pavilion, sustained major wind damage.

The building is now leaning in some areas and must be torn down.

More than a dozen campers were on the grounds when the storm struck. All were able to successfully get out of harms way. No injuries were reported.
