A section of Highway 41 has been designated as a memorial for 2 tri-state war heroes.
Wednesday, Highway 41 between US 60 and Kentucky 351 was dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients Gary Lee Littrell and Luther Skaggs Junior , both of whom are from Henderson.
Skaggs, a WWII veteran, led his men  200 yards through intense enemy fire where he would be severely wounded by a grenade.
Through 8 hours of fighting, he never saught medical attention during the fight and would end up losing his leg as a result.
Meanwhile, Littrell, who was at todays dedication ceremony, is a Vietnam War vet.
He took command of a Ranger Battalion, following the death of its American Commander, and led them through a 4 day battle.
Littrell says he is very grateful for Wednesday's honor , and he's even more grateful to be an American.
