8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon and State Representative Tim Brown spoke at the event at St. Mary's Medical Center. The topic was focused on not only finding ways to make peoples lives healthier but also keeping healthcare costs down.
Bucshon, a heart surgeon, says health screenings can help people stay healthier up front and avoid costly medical bills later in life.
"It saves money on helping prevent people getting sick in the first place," said Bucshon, "and we need to reimburse providers for that. And then we need to educate the public on how important it is to help prevent problems by getting screened."
Brown and Bucshon have already toured much of Indiana. Their last two stops will be tomorrow near Louisville.
