There is still no sign of a Hopkins County inmate who escaped from jail last night.

Ricky Miller and other inmates were working on trash detail in the jail kitchen at the time. Authorities say he took out the garbage then took off.

The supervising officer did not notice him leave off, and officials say they are surprised he did what he did.

"We've never had any incidents with him in the last year," said Hopkins County Jailer Joe Blue. "Until the first part of April, he was outside with our county road department working because the state classified him as a ow risk inmate."

They have contacted family and friends hoping they will help find Miller. He was in jail for theft and drug possession from another state.

Miller is a 35-year-old white male, 5-feet 8-inches tall, and weighs approximately 155 pounds. Anyone with any information should call Hopkins County authorities.
