Starbucks is giving its baristas a new perk: a free online college education.
The coffee giant is partnering with Arizona State University to offer tuition reimbursement to full and part-time employees who complete a bachelor's degree.
The benefit will cover 2 full years of online courses at A.S.U.
A Starbucks spokesman estimates it could cost the company about $30,000 an employee.
Starbucks' CEO says it's not about the money. He says it's a performance driving investment and enhancement for shareholders.
Employees will not be required to stay with Starbucks after earning their degree.
