Hundreds of Western Kentucky Seniors Receive Bags of Food

Hundreds of seniors across western Kentucky don't have to worry where their next meal comes from.
Hundreds of seniors across western Kentucky don't have to worry where their next meal comes from. Nearly 400 seniors got bags of food as part of the fourth Annual Stop Senior Hunger Food Drive.

Dozens of volunteers made deliveries this morning in five counties. Each person got up to two weeks worth of groceries, which many say they're glad to get.

"I think it's wonderful," said Dorothy Embry. "I could get by without it, but it's nice to have and there's a lot of people here that look forward to it because they don't have anything else."

Food drive organizers say they raised nearly $3,600 during the six week campaign.
