Idie Kesner's visit was in honor of Women's Equality Day. On this day 94 years ago, women gained the right to vote.

Over the last few years, women have made gains in the world of business, careers once predominantly held by men.

The key focus of Kesner's keynote speech was the progress that women have made over the last century and the progress that's yet to me made. Kesner also offered up some advice.

"They can in fact have it all but perhaps not all at the same time," said Kesner. "It's all about planning your career, thinking about how you balance your work and lifestyle issues throughout the duration of your career."

Kesner is part of a growing trend of female deans of Big 10 business schools. Of the 14 business schools in the conference, eight of them are women.
