Senate Joint Resolution 9 passed the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee 7-0 and will now go to the full Senate. The legislation would not change the current state rules on fishing or hunting.

Supporters say it would protect future generations of sportsmen. The bill also specifies that hunting and fishing can be used as a preferred way of managing and controlling wildlife.
