Indiana Officials Confirm Contaminated Bags of Skittles

A warning from Hoosier health officials tonight. Packages of original Skittles sold at a Richmond, Indiana gas station contained unconfirmed chemical substances.

The contamination was discovered after two people got sick. They were treated for burning throats, cramping, and diarrhea. They have since been released from the hospital.

Health officials are asking consumers to not eat Skittles with these lot numbers: 08JUL14 023 and 01DEC14 023.

State and local health officials are working with Indiana State Police, the Food and Drug Administration, and others to investigate the situation.
