The new standards are designed to replace the national common core standards, but many educators who have reviewed the draft documents say they don't see much difference.

The standards are designed to show what students should know in certain subject areas in specific grades.

A bill is making its way through Indiana's General Assembly for the state's schools to abandon the federal common core standards.
