ISP: Trooper at Fault for Serious Crash

After a lengthy investigation, Indiana State Police have determined a trooper was at fault in a serious crash that seriously injured two people on I-64 last week.

After a lengthy investigation, Indiana State Police have determined a trooper was at fault in a serious crash that seriously injured two people on I-64 last week.

According to the crash report that was recently completed by Indiana State Police investigators, Trooper Wes Alexander, 29, attempted to pull over a traffic violater on I-64 near the Poseyville exit on Monday, June 30th. While attempting to pull the car over, Trooper Alexander moved in the lane that had been shut down for construction. While attempting to accelerate, Trooper Alexander lost control, over-corrected and careened across the median. Trooper Alexander crashed into Sherri & John Jones of Louisville.  After impact, both vehicles came to a final rest off the roadway on the south side of I-64. Sherri Jones was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital. John Jones was taken to Deaconess as well.
