This weekend is one of giving for students at Ivy Tech Community College.

Their "Days of Service" got started today at the American Red Cross in Evansville. Volunteers washed service vehicles,  along with cleaning up the grounds and landscaping.

LaNell Lucius with Ivy Tech says volunteering is perfect for community college students.

"We get students involved in community outreach," said Lucius, "because we realize how important that is. With Ivy Tech being a community partner, we need to make sure that we connect with as many partners as we can."

A second "Days of Service" event will have volunteers assisting with the United Way's Spring into Caring Food Drive event.  They will load food and non-perishable items onto trucks, greet food donors, and register and organize donations.
