Kraft Foods is recalling Velveta Cheese boxes sold within a specific time frame.
The company says more than 260 cases of Velveeta Cheese may not have the proper amount of preservatives.
There's a specific package label on each box of cheese being recalled that have a “17th December ” label. Also it only affects boxes labeled within the time frame 10:54 – 14:35, only.
They may have been shipped to Walmarts in 12 states, including Indiana and Illinois.
Officials say the cheese isn't likely to spoil early. But a company rep. says not having the right amount of preservatives can allow a product to go bad. It can even lead to food-borne illness.
Kraft says the foods should not be eaten. They should return them to the store where they purchased them for an exchange or full refund. Consumers also can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-310-3704 between 9am and 6pm (Eastern). For more information click here.
