LST 325 Attendance Up One Day after Board's Vote

Attendance at the LST 325 is above average, a day after the board decided to keep the warship in Evansville.
Attendance at the LST 325 is above average, a day after the board decided to keep the warship in Evansville. Crew members say the numbers are better compared to this time last year.

The board announced yesterday that the ship would remain docked in the River City rather than moving to Peoria.

Pam and Mitch Lozier made the trip from Jeffersonville. It's their first time.

"Us being history buffs," said Pam Lozier, "yes, I think it's very important to teach our children and grandchildren. And I'm very anxious to bring some of them back and even when this ship tours."

"We're history buffs," said Mitch Lozier, "and anytime we get an opportunity to see something like this, we take it."

The LST Board of Directors hopes to increase attendance by partnering with the Freedom Heritage Museum and the EVSC.
