Man Arrested for Allegedly Hitting 4-Year-Old Son

The boy's mother called police, saying her husband was threatening to kill himself after he said he struck his 4-year-old son.

An Evansville man is arrested and awaiting transport back to the Tristate for allegedly hitting his son in the face.

31-year-old Mark Hodgen was taken into custody in Lafayette, IN.
   
Tuesday, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputies were called to a north side home on a report of man attempting suicide.
   
The child's mother called 911 saying her husband, Mark, was threatening to kill himself after he hit his 4-year-old son.
   
However, Hodgen was gone by the time deputies arrived.
   
The child was taken to the hospital with bruises covering one side of his face.
   
Hodgen is charged with battery resulting in bodily injury to a child under the age of 14.
