Matt Bevin Makes Stop in Beaver Dam Today

The Kentucky Senate race is heating up with less than a month until the Republican Primary. Republican Senate candidate Matt Bevin says he has a better chance than Mitch McConnell to keep the seat in Republican hands.

Bevin was in Beaver Dam this morning meeting supporters. It's one of several stops he's making across western Kentucky this week.

Some national pundits say Bevin doesn't have much of a chance beating McConnell next month.

"All the polling shows that McConnell cannot beat Grimes," said Bevin. "And I've talked to thousands of people over the last nine months. I've seen more people around the state than anyone else combined. There is no way he will win in November. He will lose this seat if he's the nominee."

Polls taken earlier this year showed the race would be too close to call, no matter who wins the Republican nomination. Bevin is scheduled to appear in Owensboro Friday.
